Problem Statement

In urban environments, there is a need for a central solution to efficiently manage and monitor multiple bike parking facilities. The challenge was to combine live access control with communication between users and operators, while automatically detecting faults and error messages.

Solution

Velix offers a scalable solution for central bike parking management through a control room. Each parking facility is equipped with a local controller connected to the access system and an intercom.

Operators can monitor access points in real-time and:

✓ Grant or deny remote access

✓ Instantly analyze the reason for denied access (e.g., no payment or system fault)

✓ Automatically log interventions and error messages

Access rights are centrally managed per location or cluster. All data and actions are securely logged within the platform. Thanks to this setup, new locations can easily be added while maintaining the same management structure

Shared bicycle parking system with off-grid connectivity


Problem Statement

This solution addresses the need for a flexible and sustainable bicycle parking system that supports both shared bicycle parkings and individual bike lockers. The challenge was to combine access control, monitoring, and payment into one user-friendly system, usable at various locations — both with and without a permanent power supply.

Solution

Velix developed a complete ecosystem that enables the management of various types of bicycle parking facilities — from shared parking zones to individual bike lockers — via a single platform. The solution is designed for both on-grid and off-grid locations.

Users can manage their access via a mobile app or web portal, allowing them to easily reserve, pay for, and unlock a locker or parking space. Additionally, access via QR code and badge is supported.

The system is equipped with smart sensors to monitor door statuses and occupancy. For off-grid locations, it uses solar panels and LoRaWAN technology for communication, enabling full autonomy.

Operators have central access to a dashboard where they can:
